RAFA 381 Bowls News Bulletin
Wed 5 May
R.A.F.A. Bowls and Bognor Bowls had the pleasure of entertaining Shelley Manor Bowls Club who travel as Bournemouth tourists to a six rink match. Despite it being a very cloudy and dull day a great time was had by all. Tea at ten ends proved very welcoming and we reluctantly braved the second half.
It was well fought out game with R.A.F.A and Bognor coming out on top with 6/5 win the tourists were then treated to a very enjoyable buffet tea over at the R.A.F.A club and it looks like they will be back for their revenge next year. We shall look forward to seeing them all again in 2011.
April
The start of 2010 season started on Friday 16th April with our Pre-Season Party at the R.A.F.A. Club, be sure to keep the date free so that we can all have a good time together and set the tone for the coming season commencing Saturday 24th April with the traditional Chairmen -v- Captain's match, who will you be picked for? Whatever side , it is bound to be a hilarious afternoon. Let us all hope for good weather!

We have arranged a full and varied programme for the coming season as you will note from the Fixture's Book .
Please make sure that you support your club and captain by putting your name down on the match sheets when they are put up on the notice boards either at the pavilion or the club foyer, so that teams can be picked well in advance of matches. Remember if you are put on the reserve list for one match if your name is down for the next match you will automatically be picked unless it is a league match when the captain has the discretion of picking the best available team.
We also have the Jim Lorimer Wings Appeal Day and the Mazda Open to look forward to. Please help your committee on these days by asking friends and other clubs to join in to ensure that they continue to take place, and show that the R.A.F.A. Bowls club has a lot going for it and what a friendly lot we are.
The Booze Busters competition will this year be run by Tony Wells, if you would like to play in this competition please let him know if you haven't already put your name forward. This competition is run on a Friday night at 6.30pm starting in July when we play on two or three rinks depending on how many players there are, as the season progresses the starting time alters to allow for the shortening evenings. Why not end the evening with a drink at the R.A.F.A club.
We sincerely wish you a happy season and look forward to seeing you all again.
