This is just a short resume of the bowls program
We have 8 rinks, and have put out a program of competitions that we would like to run over the next week , we don’t expect you to play in all the games, as there are some trips that you might want to go on , and also you might want to do some site seeing on your own. The only comp we would like you to put your name down for if you wish to play in it is the K. O. triples, which will be played in the afternoons.
We will draw the comps out on a daily basis which we feel is fair to everyone and it gives you better chance to make friends quicker with the whole group.
As you can see on the program we start at 10.00pm which means that we would like you to arrive at 9.45 so you can get your woods sorted out. We will play to 1.00pm. We have a mixture of games and play Round Robin, Mystery Pairs, Fixed Jack, Men's and Ladies Singles Championship, Pair Championship and Triples Championship.
There are a few things I would like to tell you
The exchange rate at the present is around 2 .5 dinar to the pound and that applies everywhere at the reception and atm machines. Which are only in the Port area
Phone calls are quite expensive in the hotel; the best place to make a phone call is at the Miami supermarket just across the main road. They are called Taxi phones 00 44 knock off the first 0
It is advisable to drink bottled water which you can buy in the hotel or supermarket
Getting around is by the yellow taxis it is between 3 to 4 Dinars to the port
Which Is for the cab not per person but always ask how much before you get in? For Sousse it averages between 7 and 10
Shopping in Tunisia is about haggling , they start around 4 times the price , so if they start around £20 don’t pay much more than £5 to £7
There are a few fixed price shops were there is no haggling, but if you go into the Medina be prepared for haggling for everything.
