NED WADDOCK AND NORMAN BURCHFELL
This match was carried over from Friday to Monday 8th. Ned was in his second final as was Dave Parker. Ned having won his and Dave having lost. It was Norman and Rons first final so there had to be new winners of this prestigious cup. Dave and Ron got off to a good start winning the first two ends by a single shot. Then Ned and Norman got one back. The next end saw a change of fortune as Ron and Dave were hit for 5 and went 6-2 down. This didn’t bother the trailing duo who went from strength to strength and both overhauled and went into a good lead as the ends started to run out. A slight comeback on the 19 and 20th ends saw Ron and Dave winning 20-15 with one end to go . Dave managed to put three woods close to the long jack to break the hearts of the pursuing team. This proved to be the case with Dave and Ron running out winners 25 shots to 15 over 21 ends.

This was Arthurs 3 attempt at winning this competition abd made no mistake overhauling the singles handicap Champion fairly easily 102-48, well done Arthur third time lucky.
MENS CONSOLATION CUP
PETER LILLFORD V ROD LINCOLN
This match was held over to Sunday 14th because of the inclement weather on the 5th and Rods holiday for the next week. What a battle, a great game lasting well over 2 hours with Peter Lillford finally winning 21-19. Unlucky Rod there always next year, you done very well for your first year at Bognor, keep it going.
