STORRINGTON 2ND JUNE 2008
The Boys from the Square did very well away from home winning on two rinks and losing on two but claiming the overall victory by 19 shots, 80—61.
The result was largely gained by a stirling performance by Arthur R and his team winning by a big margin of 27- 7 and thus claiming top rink booty. With almost as good a result Bob Heys men came in 22-11 winners. John Jackson and Ron Gardner were not quite as lucky with John going down 14-23 but Ron losing by the slim difference of 17-20.
Overall a good performance. Can we repeat this in the PC cup at Storrington again on Friday 6th. Come on Bognor you can do it.

WEST TARRING 12TH MAY 2008
This proved to be Bognors SECOND win of the season with some excellent bowling.
Ron Gardner and Joe Keywood paved the way for the win. Joes boys were nip and tuck up to the 16th end and then ran away gaining a useful 20-15 victory. Rons lads were never behind and ran out easy winners 23-13 and also took top rink prizes.
Not so lucky but with much credit were Arthur Richardson and Jack Paige. Jack and his merry band were well down only coming back to lead by one with one end to go but ran out of luck losing 2 on end 21 and thus overall 16-17. Arthurs boys were at one point 12-1 down but to their credit came back to lose 12-19.
Overall a win to Bognor 71-64.

HOMEFIELD PARK 5TH MAY 2008
This was the first win of the season . Bognor won on all rinks thanks to the Captaincy of Ned Waddock. The overall score was 86-58 to Bognor with the winning skippers Ken Murphy 24-13, A W Richardson19-16, Pat Phillips 25 -13 and John Parry 21-18.
Top Rink went to Pat Phillips crew by one shot.

SOUTHBOURNE – LEAGUE 18TH MAY
Bognor came unstuck on the artificial surface at Southbourne. Nil Points but lots of endeavor . The overall score 51-71 Southbourne but rink scores were Bob Hey 12-16 against a good Anthony Bull team, Ron Friday 10-23 to an Excellent team headed by Skipper Robin Armstrong, Peter Lillford 13-16 to Tony O’Dell proved to be Bognors best performance and Arthur Richardson 13-19 after being 10-0 down.
Well done boys. We will reverse this at The Square.
COUNTY NEWS.
Mixed results in these early rounds. Pick of the pairs was Peter lillford and Arthur Richardson winning both opening games. Good luck in round 2. Not so lucky Dave Parker and Dave Jackson losing by 1 shot to a useful Tarry priory duo. Also unlucky Terry Rexstrew and Ken Murphy, Ron Friday and Bob Hey.
In the triples results were also mixed with Peter Lillford and Terry Rexstrews boys taking early baths. However Dave Parker trio survived a useful Field place trio to move into round 2.
The fours starts for the 2 Bognor teams on Friday 30th May. With Ron Gardners 4 away at Tarring Priory and Dave Parkers 4 at home to an Arundel outfit.
