From our President:
To our men’s Captain Ned and Vice Captain Terry for steering the team to division champions. It was a nail biting match on Saturday 27th August against Southbourne Bowls Club. Read more from our President >>
Both the men and the ladies are in good league positions at the moment. Men in first place, the ladies second place on the last C&M table received This has been the very best the ladies have achieved for quite some time, long may it continue. The team had a very good run in the PC Cup competition reaching the quarter final stage. WELL DONE.
There have been some very good results in the club competitions, the finals are getting ever nearer. 3rd & 4th September, all members please keep these two days free to support the finalists. There is a lot of work takes place to arrange these days enabling them to run smoothly. It is important dates in our bowls diary and involves all members. Hoping the club will be blest with fine weather.
A very good day was had by all when the tour visited us from Nottingham. Thanking our friends from RAFA for helping the club out.
Several of our members are unwell at the moment, we wish them all well. Bill Dibley has had a setback spending some time in hospital. Ken Murphy, Terry Bridge, Eric Redstone, we continue to remember Dale White, his wife Pauline is going into hospital this month for a knee replacement hoping everything will be successful for her. Ann Parry is due to go into hospital this month also, wishing her well, hoping that she will not be out of bowls for too long. There are other ladies in the club with concerns trust all will be well with them also.
A reminder, the menus are on the front notice board for the club dinner, do not forget to put your names down and pick the menu you would like. Friday 9th October 2009, the Royal Norfolk Hotel. Parking is available.
PRESIDENT versus VICE PRESIDENT Wednesday 16th September, please support Terry and myself on this day. Thanks.
